Kilmarnock is in the heart of Ayrshire, surrounded by beautiful Burns country and only a few minutes from the coast.

Kilmarnock is ideally situated on the main A77/M77 route from Glasgow (23miles) to Stranraer (63miles). Edinburgh is around 90mins drive, as is the Border. From whichever direction you arrive, you will find the town centre well sign-posted, taking drivers onto the ‘one-way-system’ which circles the heart of the town. From here, simply take your pick of the varied short-stay and long-stay parking options. Please click here to view details of car parks shown on the East Ayrshire Council website.
The bus station is conveniently located in the town centre, and is a hub for routes throughout the surrounding area as well as longer distance coach journeys to Glasgow, Ayr, Prestwick Airport, Cumnock, East Kilbride and Hamilton.
Kilmarnock enjoys a frequent rail service to and from Glasgow, and is also on the main line from Glasgow to Dumfries, Carlisle and Newcastle. For timetable and fares visit the Scotrail website.
